Replace Black on Black Crime/@Copyright1983byCatherineJones

Replace black on black crime/With black on black love

Replace fear with an action or a thought thatś dear

Replace thievery with respect/for another oneś property

And all other actions that have polluted our race

with shame and made us a mockery!

Sometimes we all need someone with knowledge and

To help us to straighten up our lives

To help us to stop doing wrong/to help us to start doing

Whatś right

For black on black crime has been going on for a long, long time

Itś time to love and to help each other/And to sweep the trash

from our Minds!

In recognition of Black History Month and the months before and after, February, I'm sharing a poem I wrote that was published in the Chicago Defender Newspaper quite some time ago.
